I was reading a Facebook post today from Cheryl Richardson where she spoke about the shame she had experienced after facilitating a workshop and seeing a post afterward on her Facebook wall saying she was rude and a fraud.
I felt compassion for her as her message spoke to me loudly. Being called myself to share a message in the world and being "asked" to fulfill a deeper calling and impact, I understand the vulnerability that arises in this responsibility.
Intuitively I here often, "There is NO middle ground. You either show up authentic or you DON'T."
To fulfill my life's purpose at its highest potential it will require me to be 100% authentic and seen/heard by many AND some will be drawn to me and others may even be repelled by my message.
Showing up fully, authentically, and sharing our deeper truths and messages, creates greater visibility in the world. This is important for those of us with a deeper calling and purpose. This ultimately results in exposure and vulnerability.
The more "real" we are as we share our truths and voice, the more those whom have similar fears and evolutionary opportunities can be drawn to us for support. The flip side is, the more we share, the more we also open ourselves up to others (not on a similar path) who cannot or do not relate and to possible rejection, criticism, or dis-agreement.
We have a choice to make - to be seen and heard fully being true to who we are and our purpose or filter our voice at an attempt for approval of others.
Further, the only way we will ever be or feel accepted is by being true to yourself which is where unconditional love really resides.
